Gemstones & Crystals A-D

Hello everyone, hope you all have a great day.  It is damp & rainy here, but still nice. Today we are going to post a list of Gemstones & Crystals that you can use in your spell work. We will continue the list over the next few days. As you get comfortable with the usage of Gemstones & Crystals, you will develop your on ideas as which ones will work best for you.

Agate— The ones that look like eyes were used to protect from the evil eye curse and are still used in protective magick.

Amber — According to lore, amber came to us from the tears of the setting Sun, and is used as a solar/fire stone.  Some witches also use it in healing magick.  It is believed to capture disease as much as it did insects.

Amethyst — This is a spiritual stone.  It can be used for meditation, for enhancing & remembering dreams, for cultivating success & prosperity. It is also known to help with self-control, business cunning, courage & safety in battle. It can range in color from deep purple to rose.

Apache tears — This is a type of obsidian that many Witches carry for luck.

Aquamarine — A gift of the sea Goddess. This stone bears the power of the Full Moon & helps manifest harmony, bravery, intuitive awareness, clarity & and a stronger connection with our super-conscious. It is also good for healing, aids in the creative process, awakens spirituality, and fosters awareness of others levels of reality.

Azurite — The color blue of this crystal makes it ideal for dream magick & overall harmony.

Beryl— This a transparent to translucentglassy mineral. It is used to promote harmony in relationships, success with legal issues, & motivation. Transparent varieties of beryl in white, green, pink, blue, and yellow are valued as gems.

Bloodstone— Healing, to connect more deeply with planetary energy. It is also used for ish fulfillment, success, understanding weather omens, safeguarding health. Especially lucky for those born under the astrological of Pisces.

 Carbuncle— Blood red in color, legend tells that carbuncles forms from the eyes of dragons. Its magickal correspondences include insight, health, & intuitiveness.

Calcite— Comes in a lot of colors, giving it a variety of potential magickal applications. Its energy is suited to encouraging spiritual growth, inner healing & improved focus.

Cat’s eye— The visual impact of this stone gives it strong associations with vision, especially our inner sight. Superstition tells us that cat’s eye manifests beauty, luck & prosperity.

Chalcedony— offers protection from evil,  good fortune,  improved communication & attitudes. According to legend, Mohammadwore a ring with this stone set in it. Carnelian, a pale-to-deep or brownish red variety of chalcedony, provides extra protection.

Chrysocolla — This opaque, charcoal-colored stone banishes fear & re-establishes logical perspectives.

Citrine — A pale yellow variety of crystalline quartz, citrine is a great gemstone for banishing nightmares & improving psychic abilities.

Diamond— Bravery, strength,  invulnerability, clarity, & devotion. among Hindus, Arabs, & Persians, the diamond represents overall success. Lore recounts how diamonds were formed by a thunderbolt.
