Real Life Encounter: My Home

Hello everyone, hope you all have a great day. It is so beautiful out today. I am going outside with my sister later to get some work done in the yard. We just took our abouve ground pool out so we have a lot of work to do. For today’s post I am going to do another real life encounter, this one takes place in my home.
My family has lived in this house since I can remember & before. My father & aunt were born & raised in this house. It has been in my family for generations. My father, grandfather & uncle by marriage all died in this house. It is a two family house, altough it has always been only my family that has lived here.
When my aunt remarried & moved into her husband’s house down the street, I moved in downstairs. Before that I was living upstairs with my grandmother. Everything was normal the first few months I lived downstairs, then my sister & her boyfriend moved in & that’s when things started happening.
One night my sister’s boyfriend & I were sitting in the living room watching a hockey game. My sister was in her bedroom. She came out to use the bathroom, because she never shut lights off, when her boyfriend & I heard heropen the bathroom door we turned to make sure she shut off the light. She did. About 15 minutes later, I got up to get a drik & noticed the bathroom light on. None of us had gotten up & we were the only ones in the house.
Other times when I would be alone in the house cooking or cleaning, I would leave the drawer or cabinet open turn to grab something to put away & when I turned back the drawer was shut. Another night, a wicker basket that I had on my entertainment center fell off, it was in the center & there were no windows open or fans on, nothing that could have blown it off. It was defenitely knocked off.
I have recently come back home to live with my grandmother & my sister lives downstairs with her family. There have been times this past winter that I know I shut the heat in my room off, my grandmother even saw me do it & we would later find it on. Every night my grandmother cleans out the coffee pot before she goes to bed and in the morning when she wakes up, there is coffee in it. She asked me a few times if I made coffee after she went to bed & I didn’t. She even asked my sister if she came up to make coffee but she said no. So one night I watched my grandmother wash out the coffe pot & empty out the grounds. The next morning she woke me up to go look at the coffee pot & sure enough there were coffee grinds in it & a little bit of coffee in the pot. We asked my sister if she came up & she said no.
My sister & I think that it is my father & uncle playing tricks on us. They both loved to play pratical jokes when they were alive & even though they are passed on they are still up to their tricks. My sister & I have talked about having someone come in to investigate but my grandmother won’t let us. But we know who it is, they are still here with us. Letting us know that they are watching over us & protecting us… and still up to thier old tricks.

A Chocolate Spell

Hello everyone hope you all have a great day. Sorry I didn’t post this weekend, my boyfriend & I decided at the last minute to go away for the weekend. We went up north to the White Mountains. It was beautiful. We had a great time. And now for today’s post, everyone likes chocolate and most people find chocolate to be soothing. This spell is perfect to take to work & keep your coworkers in good moods all day.
First find something sweet & chocolaty to bake. After it is baked, enchant it so that when your coworkers eat it, it instills a sense of camaraderie & happiness. This will help to bring a shift to the atmosphere at work. As your baked item cools, hold your hands over it & visualize a soothing pink light coming from your hands & swirling onto the dish. Keep that goal of creating a positive atmosphere at work in mind. Now say this charm:
They used to call chocolate the food of gods,
May this shift the psychic atmosphere at my job.

The Colors & Magicks of a Lunar Eclipse

Hello everyone, hope you are all enjoying the beautiful weather. I just came back from straighten up my yard a bit. I picked some of my lilacs & lilly of the valley & brought them up. Now, my room smells like spring. I love it. Today we are going to continue talking about Lunar Eclipses.
Although most people believe that the Moon disappears compeletey, this is not true. It actually changes colors, sometimes very dramatically. When the Moon passes through the umbra, the color effect depends on the amount of refracted light. This will cause the Moon to have a reddish color, that varies from one eclipse to another. There is a way that you can rate the color of a Lunar Eclipse.
A celebrated French astronomer named Andre-Louis Danjon (1890-1967) devised a scale that recoreds the brightness mesurements. It is called the Dajon Scale. In 1958, he was awarded the Gold Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society. This is the rating scale:
0 Very dark eclipse: the Moon looks almost invisible
1 Dark eclipse: grey or brownish color, difficult to see
2 Deep red, burgundy, or rust-colored, with a very dark central part in the umbra & the outer rim or the umbra relatively bright
3 Brick-red eclipse, typically with a bright or yellow rim to the umbra
4 Very bright copper or orange-colored eclipse, with a bluish, very bright umbral rim
And now for the Magickal Correspondences for the Colors of a Lunar Eclipse. This scale is something that Ellen Dugan came up with & put in her book Natural Witchery Intuitive, Personal & Practical Magick. I thought that it was pretty interesting the way she added the traditional color magick correspondences with the Dajon Scale. Here is that scale:
0 During a deep & dark-toned Lunar Eclipse, work spells & charms for protection, banishings & bindings
1 For this rating, with that dark grey or brown color, try working glamouries or spells for neutrality or invisibility, or to make your actions go unnoticed
2 The dark red hue corresponds with the Mother aspect of the Goddess, as well as healing, love & protection magick
3 An eclipse that rates a 3 on the scale, with a red moon & bright yellow rim, may be a perfect complement to transformation spells or magick that increases your psychic knowledge & reception
4 Finally, an orange-looking eclipse could be worked for magick that increases your personal power & for success
Keep in mind that its not easy to predict the color of the Lunar Eclipse. You are going to have to play it by ear & see what color you are going to experience. A good idea would be to wait til the eclipse is at its peak then go from there.

Lunar Eclipses

Hello everyone how are you all doing? Sorry we haven’t been around for a while. Its been a really rough few months, we have gone through many changes and lost a few people working for us, but we have managed without them. We regrouped & are coming back full force. You are going to see a lot of changes in the coming months. And now for today’s post, we are going to discuss Lunar Eclipses.
A Lunar Eclipse is a great time to feel the natural psychic & magickal power of the Moon. They allow us to work very powerful intuitive magick. Any time of Moon magick is especially potent if performed during the Lunar Eclipse, also during this time your psychic abilities get turned up full force.
I am sure that you are wondering why this happens; it is because that during the Lunar Eclipse, the Moon goes through all its phases in a matter of a few hours. Making it possible to tap into every phase of the Moon in a short period of time. As you sit back & watch the Moon roll through the Lunar Eclipse, you are experiencing one of nature’s most incredible shows. It is easy to see why in ancient times people were in such awe of this event, and why the believed that it was the work of the gods. I read a wonderful visualization for a Lunar Eclipse in one of my favorite books; Natural Witchery Intuitive, Personal, Practical Magick By Ellen Dugan; during the Lunar Eclipse “the Goddess slowly pulls her burgundy cape across the moon.”
An eclipse occurs when one celestial object passes into the shadow cast by another, a Lunar Eclipse occurs when the Moon falls under the Earth’s shadow during a Full Moon.
Here are some terms & types of Lunar Eclipses taken from Natural Witchery Intuitive, Personal, Practical Magick By Ellen Dugan
Apogee – The 2nd Full Moon is at its farthest point from Earth: 252, 700 miles away
Blue Moon– The 2nd Full Moon that occurs within one calender month
Earthshine – The dark, smoky portion of the moon that you can see shining alongside a brilliant crescent. Described as seeing “the old Moon within the new Moon’s arms.”
Harvest Moon– The Full Moon closes to the Autumn Equinox. Typically these occur in September; however, one out if three harvest Moons do fall in the month of October.
Lunation – One lunar cycle phase
Occultation– An astronomical event that happens when one celestial body passes in front of another, making an object partially or fully hidden in the sky, such as a solar eclipse.
Partial Lunar Eclipse– When only part of the Moon enters the umbra (the umbra being the darker inner section of Earth’s shadow).
Penumbra — The outer part of the Earth’s shadow where sunlight is not completely blocked during an eclipse. It only dims the Moon slightly.
Penumbral Lunar Eclipse — This occurs when the Moon only passes through Earth’s outer section of the shadow, the penumbra.
Perigee — When the Moon is the closest distance to Earth, at 221,550 miles. If the perigee falls on a Full Moon phase, the Moon will look slightly larger than normal.
Total Lunar Eclipse — This occurs when the Moon goes entirely into Earth’s darkest, most inner part of the shadow, the umbra.
Total Penumbral Eclipse — A rare type of Lunar Eclipse where the eclipse stays only within the penumbra section of Earth’s shadow, but the sections of the Moon closest to the umbra will look a bit darker than the rest of the Moon.
Totality — The phase of an eclipse when it is total.
Umbra – This is the region of the complete, darkest shadow created by Earth in an eclipse. In Lunar Eclipses it has a reddish hue.
Zenith — The point in the sky directly above the viewer. Also the highest point of the Moon’s — or Sun’s — arc across the sky.

Spring Signs In Love

Hey everyone, Hope you all have a great day. As soon as I finish up here, going to enjoy a day of pampering, getting my nails filled & a pedicure. Then off to enjoy the beautiful weather. Today’s post is about the Spring Sun Signs; Aries, Taurus and Gemini, in love.
Since Aries is first in the zodiac I am going to start off with them. Rams are known for not taking “no” for an answer, this is no different when they are in love. An Aries will pursue the one that they live to the ends of the earth & beyond if necessary. Rams are the happiest with other Fire Signs, other Aries, Leos, or Sagittarians, because like Aries these sign also crave excitement and passion.
Once the fire dies, don’t expect the Ram to stick around, they thrive in relationship that contain fire. Rams tend to seek lovers who are dependent when it comes to love but independent in other ways. It’s tough to love a Ram!! Being a Ram myself, I can vouch for that. My boyfriend definitely has his work cut out for him. But he can handle me.
Rams can be very jealous, they expect their lover to give them the same fiery attention that they are giving. Rams also love to share everything they have with a lover they trust. Like the ambition they have for themselves, the ambition they have for their lover, shows no bounds.
Rams get along well with all Air signs. For example, Aries opposite, Libra can provide the air need to keep the fire burning, but Aries may get tired of Libra’s standards. Gemini & Aquarius can also feed Aries’ fire. Aries and Cancer or Capricorn don’t do well together; they are a “household” sign and Aries is not. Two of the things required in love, compromise and the meeting of others needs, are very hard for Rams.
The second of the Spring signs is Taurus. A Bull in love stays in love for two reasons…security and stability. To sensuous, earthbound Bulls, love are romance and the same thing.. Bulls are probably the most patient when it comes to making sure that the love is right. A Bull will always be there for their loved one & they expect the same in return.
Bulls don’t like change, so they may tend to be jealous if the stability that they have created becomes threatened in anyway. A Taurean partner is one that you can always count on. Although the relationship may seem dull at times, a Bull is with you for the long haul.
Bulls are attracted to Water signs, especially Cancer and Pisces. Bulls or Rising Bulls are likely to find their soul mate in Scorpio, their opposite. Bulls get along with household Cancer’s because Bull’s like to be comfortable.
Taureans are often attracted to more lively signs, such as Aries, Gemini or Sagittarius, but will become annoyed quickly when all these signs want to do is go out & play. Bulls are most comfortable with other Earth signs, since thier reliability and need for routine matches their own. Don’t expect these matches to produce fireworks.
The last but certainly not the least Spring sign is Gemini. Castor and Pollux, the twins of the Gemini myth choose to be united forever in the sky rather then be separated for a single moment.
Twins can be fickle when it comes to love. Someone that seems fascinating one week can be boring the next week. Twins can be ideal lovers. They are charming, witty, and generous. Twins will see genuinely interested in you, it’s keeping that interest that is a challenge. You can win this challenge by meeting them on their own ground. Let them know that they can trust you by trusting them.
Gemini’s do well with other Air signs, such as other Geminis, Librans, and Aquarians are good matchs for Twins. Air sings are lighthearted and understand each other’s need for mental stimulation.
Because Air feeds Fire, Gemini also does well with Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. Down-to-earth Virgo is also a good match for the Twins. Both Gemini and Virgo are mutable quality and are ruled by Venus. Twins and Virgos can challenge each other and teach each other a lot.

Malachite — This is a light to dark greenish stone, malachite can be attached to a child’s crib to improve sleep or it can be carried for protection,specifically to remain aware of any forthcoming dangers or problems.
Moldavite – Known to energize psychic talent, quickens spiritual evolution. Although it is not neccssarily used in magickal practices, many people who wear it claim it affects them in a positive way.
Moonstone – This stone is under the rule of the Moon & bears very similar energy to the lunar sphere. It is used to motivate foresight, psychism, inventiveness & nurturing abilities, and to enhance the vividness of dreams & dream recall
Obsidian – One of the favorite stones used for scrying mirrors, and sacred to the partoness of Witches, Hecate.
Onyx — For banishing & absorbing negative energy. Good for grounding during magickal work. Helps to break deeply ingrained habits, whether physical or emotoional. Wear onyx when facing adversaries in figurative or literal battle.
Opal — For those born in October, opal is a luck stone that improves memory.
Pearl – Pearls are sacred to Isis in Egypt & Freya among the Saxons, they are also a symbol of the Goddess, the moon, and the water element. Pearls are suited to spells focused on love, happiness & prosperity.
Peridot (chrysolite) — When set in gold, this gem turns away evil, nightmares & malevolent magick.
Quartz – An all-purpose magickal stone, quartz represents infinite potential. The color of the quartz often varies its applications.
